About department

This department of English was established with the establishment of the Campus in the year 1977and named Andhra University MSN Campus Kakinada. Prof. N. Krishna Raowas the founder Professor and Special Officer of the campus. The pioneering professors of the department are Prof. D. LakshmanaRao, Prof. T.R. Dutta,Prof. D.J.P.N Reddy, and Prof. T. ViswanadhaRao.As the campus was merged in AdikaviNannaya University, consequently it became AdikaviNannaya University MSN campus Kakinada.

Apart from being the Post-Graduate Centre, the Campus is also Research Centre with active research activities. The research output of the department is that there were 9 PhD degrees, 12 M.Phil. Degrees were awarded. 2Seminars were organized in the department

Thrust areas of research in the department arelanguage and linguistics, communication skills, English Language Teaching, Literary Criticism, Black Literature, Post-Colonial theory, Dalit Studies, American Literatureand Indian English Literature.
